Upgrade Stormwind/Orgrimmar for 3.3.5a?

I lack the skills and talent that you fantastic modelers possess but I was wondering if any of you might consider making a patch that replaces the 3.3.5a sw/org with the updated ones from MoP. I know objects and npcs would need relocating, and that's at least something I can do, but beyond that my talents just arent up to the task to edit world maps. I'd really love to see this happen if its possible though! Even better would be if SW's park could be kept and somehow integrated but even if that's not doable I'd be absolutely thrilled to have the updated SW/Org without changing the entire world map to post-cata. Basically I'm hoping its possible to have both org and sw "fly-worthy" so flying over them isn't a parade of glitchy visuals.

OMG! That would be amazing! Please don't forget me if you manage to finish this cause it would just thrill me to have a fly-worthy sw/org in 3.3.5a!

Awesome I can't wait to see it! As for the water... that can be looked at and fixed later I am sure. Just getting the updated stormwind into the wotlk world map is a titanic undertaking and managing that is highly impressive!

I have this already but it's buried in 9gigs worth of retro-ported MoP/Cata/misc MPQ's if you do a google search for

You won't find this torrent easy but some asian site had it i got it, it has all you are talking about even pandaria and all the cataclysm stuff every maps and model even custom logins and all of it, still havent even checked it all it's massive.

On a side note don't bother checking the old forums post for the link on modcraft or many of the other modding sites links were all taken down or not working, so you will end up on google as i did and if you want a fully funcional new stormwind/orgrimmar

Unfortunately that's just the old conversion of the entire cata map for 3.3.5a. What this topic is specifically discussing is porting JUST THE UPDATED STORMWIND itself into the 3.3.5a world map. So the rest of the world would remain as 3.3.5a. Most people can swap in the ported cata world map but it basically breaks the 3.3.5 quest experience cause zones are drastically altered and npc's then find themselves in awkward places. The goal this topic is talking about achieving would be akin to copy/pasting just stormwind from that conversion map and editing/merging it with the old 3.3.5a map so that 3.3.5a has a properly intact stormwind. Ideally if this ends up being successful a similar effort could be made on Orgrimmar though that would likely require a bit more work due to how updated Org connects with Azshara.

That the beauty of those old conversions, we got the models and with some effort it could be done, would be nice to see a new SW/ORG only part of cataclysm I did enjoy. Anyone start a project I would donate some time to see it done.

If you found a working download link on google it might be an awesome idea if you bring this release up to include the link?

I have some problems with this work. Old Stormwind don't want to delete, and It appears over of the new. Del of duplicates not work. So, try to fix this. In addition, I now have a lot of work on another project, and study. I do not know when will bring Storm and Orgri to the end. But I working on it. :)

This is the problem i had, so i think it's a gameobject, cause if you delete from all the maps and adt's the wmo it' appears equally, i think that is is spawned in the db of the server

When you open Noggit and select a model, you will see boxes around that model. All ADTs which contain even a corner of such box contain that model, which means that if you leave any of those ADTs with that model saved in them, that model will simply stay in game. You need to delete that model from all of them.

So, you can either do what Skarn said, or if you want more noob-friendly approach, open Noggit, make ALL ADTs which contain Stormwind WMO edited (click with any tool into them) and then you are free to delete Stormwin WMO and save. Once again, ADT contains object if object's BOX is contained in ADT, even a corner. If there is no visible part of object on some ADT, it still may be saved in ADT because of presence of that box.

EDIT: If memory serves me well, Stormwind was on square made of 16 ADTs.

I am now completely retired from modding. I am still reading PMs and reacting to them, however, I am not keeping up to date with what is going on in the community and my ability to help you is becoming very limited - I no longer remember some things, I don't have tools installed anymore, and I don't know what is up to date nowadays.
