Смердокрыл
Hey!I wanted to make some changes to the original Eastern Kingdoms map on my Cata server. So, I made them in Noggit (on the WotLK version of the map, obviously) and I now have a wdt and a couple of adt files with the needed changes. Next, as I understand, I should upconvert them to Cata, but what should I do after? Do I just put those files into a patch? Should I somehow merge the original and the edited Azeroth.wdt? If there is a step by step tutorial somewhere, I'd be grateful for a link. or not
Ghaster
If you are moving your edits to cata, you would need to downconvert the cata adt's, modify them in noggit, and upconvert them back to cata. You can't edit WotLK adt's and upconvert them to cata, the game will crash. To convert the cata adt's to WotLK, you can use PhillipTNG's downconverter. To convert them back, use his upconverter. Elrena
You can edit Wrath ADTs just fine At least the ones in the Scarlet Enclave.
Смердокрыл
The main question isnt about conversion. After I convert and I have the converted wdt and adts, what do I do with them? or not
MrXJKz
If you try to modify GM Island 3.3.5 and convert it for Cata+, you'll get a error. If you try the convert GM Island 6.2.3 to TLK, the converter don't work because there's no texture. Смердокрыл
So, right now I have two adts with a bunch of wmos and m2s on them, all in WotLK format. I want to replace two adts on the original Cata eastern kingdoms with the two new ones. How do I do it? or not
Skarn
There is currently no way. Until Noggit learns to read and save big alpha. Your adts are now in small alpha. When you add small alpha to big alpha map or vice versa = crash. But there also would be an option for conversion but it would require a separate tool to be coded. If you need infomation on this theme, I can provide more.
Vellear
out of curiosity and noob question(just never studied this issue before): since 3.0.2 all new maps > big alpha? include cata continents and next?
Skarn
Since Northrend, yeah. There is no reason to keep usual alpha. Usual alpha is 32*64 (stretched image, one pixel is two pixels in a row if covnerted to 64x64, that also explains decrease of the quality ingame after you save in Noggit). Big alpha is 64x64. Смердокрыл
The adts I wanna import are edited original adts, just in case. Could I downport the Cata version of the whole continent, then merge the adts and upconvert back? Or, could I downport the Cata version, edit the original adts myself and then upconvert back? I probably could, but would I loose any quality? or not
