Смердокрыл
Hey! I have, once again, decided to finally try and create a proper spell (all of my previous attempts have failed miserably). I took the spell Ward of the Worldbreaker as a base. I found all of the dbc entries for it and duplicated them to end up with a spell that should give your character a green fire effect on the eyes. Here you can see how I duplicated the entries: Spell.dbc Original Custom SpellVisual.dbc Original Custom SpellVisualKit.dbc Original Custom SpellVisualKitModelAttach.dbc Original Custom SpellVisualEffectName.dbc Original Custom My result: nothing works. or not
Skarn
Try to align your images in a column as now it is hard to compare when you have to view each one separately in a lightbox. Also... have you looked at stoneharry's Spell Editor?

But the original spell works perfectly. The spell is supposed to create an eye glow effect, just like the original one, but green. How can I remove that "hidden aura" thing? Besides, doesn't "aura hidden" just mean that the aura won't show up as an icon under the character portrait/at the top right of the screen? or not

Idk about cata, but in the lich king I made custom viusal without any problems and without spelleditors, just using dbcs. There is a little scheme I painted doing the process, I hope it'll help you. (I used it for custom wings, but there is all dbcs you need)

Смердокрыл
I found this spell which hides the character's shirt and bracers, but more importantly, it hides the tabard and gloves, which are geosets. Maybe I could make a spell which would enable the eyeglow geoset? or not
Vortalex
It's most likely an eye glow model located in SpellVisualKitModelAttach.dbc Or it could be a script that enables glowing eyes (but I doubt it). Have you checked the core scripts?
Смердокрыл
I tried copying another spell in a similar way: it didn't work. Maybe there's some additional database I have to use? Maybe the sql ones? or not
Смердокрыл
Hey, guys! I just did this: I took the original spell (ward of the worldbreaker) and simply copied it's spell.dbc entry, giving a new Id. I haven't touched ANYTHING else. When I tried to use the spell ingame, nothing worked. From this simple experiment, I can deduce that there should be an entry in some other place (maybe the sql db) for any spell to work. Question is: where? or not
Смердокрыл
Any thoughts? or not
Vortalex
Like I said, did you check the core? As in... for any scripts linked to that spell. There is also all the spell tables located in the TC database. You have to assign a script to a spell manually by entering in a new row to spell_scripts. All the other spell tables could also contain additional data that isn't in the dbc file.
